It was a three-stage process. First, I had to answer some questions about myself and my work experience by recording a video. If they liked that, I was then asked to do a case study task that I could do whenever I wanted, which was nice. The tasks were like the actual work for the job. Lastly, I had a live interview with one or two managers. The communication was good and it was well set up. The only bad thing was I could only ask questions at the end.

I applied online and went through one screening interview and then one with the direct team. Both interviews were okay, but the second one felt like they were just checking boxes and the interviewers didn't seem that interested, though one was nice. After I finished an assessment, I was rejected. I asked for feedback but never heard back.

I've had two really unprofessional experiences with Control Risks. In the first, they interviewed me and I completed an assessment, but they never responded or followed up – they ghosted me. In the second, they interviewed me and said they would follow up and invite me to an interview the next week, but they never emailed. In both cases, I had to follow up myself, which is very unprofessional and a waste of time. It's discouraging when you spend time interviewing and completing an assessment. The first instance was a few years ago, and I understood that needs change, so I didn't take it personally and moved on. However, after the second experience, I felt compelled to share it. It left a bad impression, and it seems to be a pattern of unprofessional behavior based on other reviews. Hiring managers and HR are the face of the company for candidates, and personally, this was a waste of time and has put me off recommending anyone from my network for a role at CR. It's unfortunate because the type of work they do is interesting.
