Software Engineer
So, the interview process was like this: first, I had an HR interview with the usual HR questions, it was pretty chill. Then, things got a bit weird with a technical interview. They hit me with questions on tech I didn't even see in the job description, which was kinda confusing, but I tried my best. After that, radio silence for four weeks! I had to chase HR down with an email. Another five weeks went by, and finally, the manager interview happened. It felt more like a monologue; the manager did all the talking and I barely got a word in, couldn't even ask a question.
- Can you describe a project where you played a key role using Java?
Software Engineer
Started with a LinkedIn message and then talked to two recruiters. First up was a coding challenge with 5 javascript exercises to complete in about 23 minutes, testing javascript knowledge, especially ES6+. After that, I had an hour-long technical interview with two engineers, covering various topics, plus a 30-minute algorithmic exercise that felt harder under pressure. Practicing on Leetcode is a good idea. The engineers were great, supportive, and gave helpful feedback. My final interview was supposed to be a full-stack Node and front-end framework test, but it turned out to be another live coding algorithmic test with screen sharing. The engineer was really nice and patient.
- Could you list the data structures with which you are familiar?
- What distinguishes an array from a linked list?
- Can you explain Big O notation and the computational cost of an algorithm?
Senior Software Engineer
Bad experience. I passed four technical interviews and got a congrats message saying an offer was coming. Then they apologized and canceled everything. When I asked why, the recruiter said my years of experience didn't meet their criteria. So after two months, they ended it like this.
- Could you explain the event loop in Node.js?
