First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Consumer Law Group.
Paralegal
It was pretty straightforward. HR reached out first to chat about my resume, and then I had an interview with an attorney. In that interview, they asked about my past work experience and gave me some hypothetical situations to see how I'd handle them.
- Can you discuss your previous work experience and how you'd handle a hypothetical scenario?
Associate Attorney
I got an email from HR, replied to it, and they set up an interview. The interview went well in my opinion, but I was let down by how they handled it. If they had sent an email saying I wasn't a fit, I would have been fine with that, but they didn't even bother to get back to me. I know finding candidates and applying for jobs is tough, so a courtesy email would have been appreciated. For a law firm, I really expected them to at least say something like “sorry we found a better candidate.” But whatever, I'm just glad I'm not working there.
- What experience can you offer?
- Tell me about the experience you will bring to this role.
Case Manager
I had a meeting with the manager to talk about my career aspirations and the role itself. The manager was really nice and seemed well-prepared. We reviewed my resume, and I discussed my past work. Since I came from another law firm, it was easy to explain my fit with CLG. The manager was primarily interested in understanding my personality and thought process. I liked the office environment and the manager, and I accepted the job offer.
- What are your long-term career objectives?
- Are you seeking employment or a lifelong career path?
- What strategies do you employ to achieve your objectives?
IT Manager
i met with one of the managing partners and several attorneys. i was asked several questions about my experiences and also about various life adventures. they explained the work environment as well. overall, this was a very professional and informative process.
- Questions about your IT experience were asked.
- Were you asked about your passion for working with people?
- What about ethics related questions?
