It was a pretty easy and typical interview. The questions were easy to answer, and the setting was relaxed with no pressure. They asked common questions like why you're interested in working here and about your previous role and reasons for leaving.

Had a couple of interviews with the Security Director, which was fine. But the last interview with the VP of Security was a no-go because he wouldn't work with my disability and refused to interview me. Good thing I found out about how they operate at Consumer Cellular during the interview process, not after I was hired.

I spoke with the recruiter at the open house about my past experience after they looked at my resume. They gave me a tour of the call center and showed me the company's expansion plans. I got details about the job metrics. Shift determination will be based on training performance. The training period has a no absence policy, and there are strict attendance requirements on the floor. Benefits are paid in full after a brief wait. It's a team environment with 4 key metrics: call quality, adherence, attendance, and number of calls.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • How familiar are you with the cell phone industry?
  • Tell me about your call center background.
  • Do you have any time off planned that would interfere with training?

It was a group interview, but things might be different now. They ask a bunch of basic questions and situational questions to get a better sense of your characteristics and see if you can handle a repetitive job dealing with customers who are always right (wink, wink). Also, talk about how you'll help the company grow, that you've NEVER missed a day of work before, you're keen to learn, and being on time is VERY important to you.

Confirmed questions5 questions
  • Can you describe a time you went above and beyond for a customer and what the outcome was?
  • How would you contribute to the company's growth?
  • Tell me about your attendance record in previous roles.
