First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Consensys.
Senior Quality Engineer
The hiring manager gave me a call and went over the job details. First, I had to do a coding exercise where I had to set up code locally, mess with the MetaMask extension app, and then automate a simple scenario in the code repo. After that, I interviewed with the QA team. This included a technical part with questions about automation and manual processes. The last round was a behavioral interview with some team members, where they asked me scenario-based questions.
- Can you elaborate on your automation and testing methodologies?
Software QA Engineer
The hiring process involves about 4 to 5 rounds. It's quite a slow process, so you'll need patience if you're really aiming for the job. You'll be interviewed by your potential future colleagues. The whole interview timeline can stretch over several months.
- Are the technical questions job-relevant?
- Were the technical questions easy and relevant to the JD/position applied?
- Was the interviewer qualified enough?
QA Engineer
Had a few chats with a recruiter from another company who kept saying I was good for the role even when I wasn't sure. Then there was a technical test that was way too hard for me. After that, I talked briefly with someone who actually works there, but they mostly just talked about bad management and company problems.
- Can you explain the difference between dependency injection and inversion of control?
- What happens during an integer overflow or underflow?
- How do you handle API contract testing?
