Behavioral

I first spoke with a recruiter at a career fair on campus and then was invited to interview. The interview itself was pretty relaxed, just me and the recruiter one-on-one. They asked some pretty standard behavioral questions. No technical stuff in this first round.

Applied through the website, and after 2 days, I had a 30-minute technical phone interview with HR to get a feel for my background. The next day, HR called about an in-person interview in Bartlesville the following week. I flew in and stayed for a day. The in-person interview was great, starting with a 30-minute campus tour to help me relax. Afterward, in a meeting room, a 3-person panel conducted a friendly, two-way interview, asking technical and behavioral questions. We then had lunch with the team. The following week, HR called to discuss salary expectations, and I received the offer letter a few days later.

The communication with ConocoPhillips was great, helped by my university's job site. The interview was interesting and unique, which kept me on my toes. They didn't try to trick me, but had good questions I hadn't seen before.
