They really drilled me on my performance metrics, especially focusing on activity KPIs like daily calls, emails, and conversations. It felt like a red flag when they mentioned expecting over 500 calls weekly. While metrics are important, quota attainment should be the priority. They seemed to want to know if I was already hitting 100+ calls daily and if I'd keep that up. With my Business Development background, the 'spray and pray' approach isn't effective anymore. I decided it wasn't a good fit because I was getting bad vibes from the interviewers, and later confirmed it through Glassdoor reviews.

So I applied and then got an email to set up an interview. They let me know the stages beforehand, which was nice. First, I had a brief call with the hiring manager. After that, there was an interview with the team manager and the hiring manager. They told me what the next step would be and when I might hear back. Then came a technical coding challenge where I got to pick one of two tasks – I went with a UI testing one. They laid out what was expected and gave me a deadline. The last part was a group interview with the hiring manager and two team members picked for personality fit. We talked through my code submission, and they asked me about my approach and how I might improve it. I was also given a timeframe for hearing back after this.

I started with a recruiter call. Then, about two weeks later, I had a video interview with the Head of Data Science. After passing that, I got a machine learning task which I finished in 3 days. The day after I sent it in, they invited me for a face-to-face interview in Manchester for the following week. When I got there, I first spoke with the technical director who gave me an overview of the company's goals and current projects. Then I interviewed with the Head of Data Science for about 30 minutes. After that, I had two more interviews, one with a data scientist and another with a senior machine learning engineer. The whole process was really fast and smooth. I got the job offer two days after my onsite interviews.

Behavioral Technical

Honestly, this was the worst and most disorganized process I've ever been through. It took ages for the recruiter to get back to me about scheduling a call. Then, out of the blue, they called me for the initial chat. It was super disorganized, and they didn't even bother to pitch the company. I had to do all the asking to get any info. The interview itself was nice, and I liked that they showed me around after. A week went by with no word, and then just a quick call saying things were 'positive' and asking when I was free to talk to the team lead. The recruiter knew I was talking to other companies and didn't even ask about them, which is terrible recruiting. The team lead didn't even show up for our scheduled call, so I had to chase them. When we finally did talk, their camera was off, which felt really impersonal and didn't build trust, even though the conversation was decent. After all that, I never heard back from the recruiter or the team. I would have expected some feedback or at least a rejection email since I invested so much time in this, which is pretty standard.
