Had two HR calls then an interview with three members of the sales team. Interview went really well, but they were offended when I asked about employee turnover. One member of the sales team called me a "sausage." Incredibly rude and unprofessional.

First, a recruiter called me to chat about my current situation and the job. Then, I had a Teams interview where they basically asked me the same questions the recruiter did. After that, the recruiter asked if I could do an in-person interview, which was surprising since I hadn't done one since covid. This interview was at the worksite in Falls Church, VA, which was 51 minutes away, but I decided to go. The in-person interview was actually great, I met two people I'd be working with, and they explained the job and the work culture, which made me feel more relaxed. The same day, I heard back from the recruiter saying they wanted to offer me a position, and I said I'd accept it the next day.

So this was the longest, most tedious interview process I've ever been through. It started with a phone screening and then a 1-on-1 with a recruiter. After that, they had me come to Merrimack, NH for a group interview that lasted an hour. I didn't hear anything for two weeks, so I called them to check on my status. Then they asked me to prepare a 30-60-90 day presentation for another group panel, also in Merrimack. I did the presentation, but then got confusing messages about which of the multiple open positions I was interviewing for. I ended up having two more online interviews, and had to give my 30-60-90 presentation again to someone on the west coast. They contacted my references and started the background check. Then, radio silence for five weeks. I called the recruiter again to get an update, and that's when they told me they were interviewing other candidates and would let me know within a week. This 'next week' thing went on for another month, with them telling me the same thing every week. Finally, the recruiter told me she was going on vacation for two weeks and couldn't tell me the outcome. About four months after I initially applied, I got an email saying they chose someone else. I knew within six weeks that I didn't want to work there because of how they handled things, but I felt like I had to see it through. So much time and effort wasted. On top of all that, they'd call me during my work hours, expecting me to talk, even when I was at my current job or giving presentations.

Horrible... horrible... horrible... apply elsewhere. I was contacted by a recruiter, Kristine Harris, about the acquisition role in Shelton. We had a good 20-minute chat about the job, company, benefits, and pay. Then, I had an in-person meeting with the Territory Manager, Thomas Smith, who was great and made the office sound good. We talked about my interests, sales experience, and why I wanted a new job. Kristine reached out again to set up a second phone interview with a sales manager at HQ. This 15-20 minute call went well, discussing how I could fit in and contribute. The next day, Kristine contacted me to schedule a second in-person interview at the Shelton office with the office manager. This interview also went well. I was shown my potential workspace and sat with two sales reps to observe their daily sales process, calls, and CRM usage. After two phone and two in-person interviews, I thought I had a good shot, but two weeks later, Kristine emailed to say they found a candidate with more experience. A billion-dollar company shouldn't handle hiring this way, making candidates think they have a good chance and then rejecting them for experience that should have been stated upfront to save everyone time.
