Condé Nast Sales Representative Interview Questions
& Process

I interviewed for the Sales Assistant position and was initially very excited. However, the interviewer, who was a Director, immediately expressed negative views about the company. She stated that there's no room for growth at Conde Nast and asked if I was okay with staying in a support role. I responded that I'd like to grow professionally, which didn't seem to be the answer she expected. She also mentioned the company's perception of being superior and its difficulty in attracting clients, rolling her eyes as she said it. The interview left me confused about why Conde Nast would hire someone with such a negative attitude about the brand. Her demeanor made it clear she didn't enjoy working there, and I lost my excitement about the opportunity. Conde Nast should reconsider their interviewers or train them to represent the brand better.

I applied online and then an HR person called me a few days later to set up an interview. I couldn't make it to New York, so we did a phone interview instead. The interview focused a lot on my past project experience, not so much on generic questions like 'what's your greatest weakness'. She also asked me about the company's magazines, like which one I liked best and why. It was pretty personal, friendly, and not too stressful.

It was a super chill interview, basically just a chat about my background - like where I went to school and my previous jobs - and why I was keen on working at Conde. The person interviewing me was really nice and seemed genuinely into what I had to say.
