Team Leader
The recruiter was handling hiring for a third party. It was a really bad experience. First, there was a chat with the recruiter, then a language test, and finally an interview with the recruiter and a manager. They said I was hired and had a great interview. A week later, they said there was a delay but I was still going to be hired. Two weeks later, they told me the role would start in 4 months, but it was definitely mine. No contract. After 4 months, I had to do another interview and language test. A few weeks after that interview, they said I failed the language test which I had already passed. They were very unreliable. They even offered me another role in a different country after all this.
- What is your past experience and what do you know of the company?
Team Leader
The hiring process took about a week. First, I had a chat with the recruiter who asked me some relevant questions about the job, my professional background, and my management methods. Then, I had an interview with the client and two Coordinators. They told me about the challenges of the role, and I shared my management approach and some success stories. After that, I had an online interview with the hiring manager for the position, but she couldn't make it to the process, so it was a relaxed conversation. It was a good opportunity for me to learn more about the client and the operations, and for her to get to know me professionally. The whole process was clear and transparent. They consistently highlighted the challenges I would face and what they expected from me.
- What were the challenges of managing a remote team?
Team Leader
The interview process really focused on your understanding of the business, how you handle different situations, and if you're aware of key performance indicators (KPIs). There was also a case study, and questions about the role of a team leader and company policies. It's important to have studied coaching techniques and methodologies beforehand, as this is crucial, even if you feel you naturally have leadership qualities.
- From the start of your shift to the end, what are the responsibilities of a team leader?
