It was an in-person interview with a writing test with a few problems, then a few more rounds talking to people from different teams. The whole thing happened in one day and I heard back pretty quickly.

I applied through Handshake and got a response really fast through email. They only do in person 3-4 hour interviews. I talked to around 3-4 people and at the end there was a written test that took an hour. It seems like they want people who are highly skilled and are not flexible with those who may need to learn on the role (for example, a particular language).

I applied through the university's career center. I had six interviews with people from different fields, one after another. Since they were in charge of different areas, I expected different questions, but a lot of the questions were the same, so I had to answer the same things over and over. After that, I had a one-hour test on basic database knowledge. I got the offer the next business day. I turned it down because the pay was way below the industry average, making me feel like they weren't serious.

I applied for a customer service rep position through my university and got a call within 24 hours. Because I wasn't close to the location, they said they'd be in touch if a trainer came to California. About a week later, I was called to interview in San Francisco, but I declined since I'm in Southern California, and the person seemed unaware it's a 6-hour drive. Two weeks later, I was contacted for an interview in Southern California, 1 hour away. I met with a 10-year trainer who explained they keep job postings vague and secretive. He also mentioned the role I applied for was actually 2-3 positions, with people sorted based on factors. I heard red flags and found their secrecy odd. The interviewer seemed intimidated by me, repeatedly saying 'but I'm not that smart' after I asked questions. He was the only uncomfortable interviewer I've met. I thought about giving him a pep talk. I wasn't surprised I never heard from him. I only heard from the company after emailing another contact, and received an old-school letter rejecting me after about a month of silence. Even if I got the job, I wouldn't want to work there after that experience.
