First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Compugen.
Service Desk Analyst
I applied through indeed and got a call back pretty quickly. I then had a phone interview which I think I did really well on, and after that, I had a 2-on-1 interview with two of the service desk managers. A couple of days later, I had another interview with the internal recruiter to meet the third service desk manager. She explained that even though there are three managers, I'd only report to one, and the others are there to help divide the service desk team by location and skills. The recruiter mentioned she already heard good things from the other interviews, so she didn't ask many questions. About an hour after leaving that last interview, the recruiter called me with a job offer.
- When you're doing technical support for a company like Rogers or Amazon, what makes for a great customer service experience in your opinion?
IT Support
The interview process was not very organized or ethical. The HR recruiter called beforehand to try to convince me to take a lower salary, saying it's non-negotiable. The manager is not technical, which is strange given the company hierarchy. The interview relied on questions from American customers, which were the most idiotic situational questions I've ever encountered in 15 years. My advice: avoid them.
- If you're behind a government firewall and can't see servers, how do you communicate with them?
Help Desk Analyst
I was contacted by the team lead who set up a 1-on-1 interview at the office. We discussed the job requirements, and they reviewed my resume. We talked about what I could bring to the position from my past work. The team lead asked some technical questions, about 80% of which I could answer. I got the job offer 6 days later.
- What can you bring to this role based on your past experience?
- Can you answer some technical questions?
