Desktop Support Technician
It was brief for the position, but since I'd been working at the contract company for a few years, they mainly cared that I knew my stuff. I was basically an exception to the usual process.
- What is your greatest weakness?
Help Desk Analyst
So after getting referred, the recruiter emailed me with a list of topics to study. Then, I took a reading and comprehension test, followed by a grammar test. They also gave me a technical knowledge test and had me fill out a background log. After that, I was taken to a separate room for a pronunciation test where they asked me questions about my hobbies and had me read some sentences aloud over the phone. Finally, there was a practical computer test with exercises mostly involving changes in the Control Panel and Microsoft Office, plus a multiple-choice test. If I passed these, they scheduled an appointment with a manager who asked standard interview questions about my background, including 'what if' scenarios about printer and internet troubleshooting.

Service Desk Manager
Had a phone chat with HR first, then spoke with the co-manager. Next, I met face-to-face with both the co-team manager and the director. Finally, HR followed up and offered me the job, though the pay was lower than average for this kind of role and title.
