The first interview was a quick phone call, probably under 30 minutes. They talked about the company, the job, and benefits, and asked about what you're looking for to see if it's a good match. It was mostly about getting to know each other.

So I initially applied for a different job, but HR reached out about this one, saying it was a good match. I checked the description, agreed, and applied. The very next day, a Team Leader, not HR, called me for an impromptu phone interview. It went great! We talked a lot about the job, my background, how much notice I'd need to give my current job, and what I wanted to make. The day after that, HR called me in for an interview. A few days later, I went in and took a Wonderlic test. Then I met with the VP and another Team Leader. We covered pretty much the same topics as the phone call – job duties, how the team is structured, what specific things they'd want me to handle, and how my skills align with the role. The Team Leader left after about an hour, and I stayed to chat with the VP for another hour. Honestly, I was a bit iffy about the company at first because it seemed like there might be a lot of turnover, but after the interview, I really liked the people and was feeling good about the possibility of working there... until after the interview. The VP walked me back to the front, where HR was waiting. They said I'd hear back in a few days, and it really felt like a sure thing. Fast forward THREE WEEKS, and I get a weird email from an address that looked like spam (donotreply@invalidemail.com). It was a short, unsigned note saying thanks but no thanks, and not from anyone I'd spoken with at ComPsych. Super strange and kind of rude, honestly. Makes you wonder about the company culture if that's how they treat people, especially given the potential turnover.

This was by far one of the most frustrating interview processes I have ever been apart of. Compsych was aware that I do not live in Chicago, IL, where they are headquartered, and was not looking to relocate to that area. They still chose to interview me based on my resume and references provided. I went through 3 rounds of interviews. After the first 2 rounds, I was promptly followed up with in order to schedule the next interview. After the 3rd round, I was advised that they were looking to move quickly to fill the position. The HR contact advised that they would be in touch with me within 2 weeks. After this, I heard nothing. I followed up with the HR department no less than 4 times before a decision was made. This was over a month after my final interview. Each time, I was the one who had to follow up with the HR contact. At each of my follow-ups, the HR contact advised he would get back to me in 1 week. Each time, he failed to reach out to me at all until I myself contacted him again. After my 4th follow up, he finally let me know that they would be unable to offer me the position due to me being remote. He then stated that they had a similar Account Manager position open in another department, and since they liked me so much, they'd love for me to interview for that position. At this point I was extremely frustrated, but decided to take a chance and agreed to the interviews. He let me know he would contact me by the end of the week. Once again. I heard nothing. I followed up with him a full 2 weeks after our last conversation. He called me the next day and let me know that unfortunately, they would not be able to hire someone remotely. He said that they would contact me if a remote position opened up, as they were impressed by my interviews. If this is how this company treats potential employees, I shudder to think of how they treat current employees. I have been on a number of interviews, and I can say without a doubt that this is the absolute worst experience I have had with a company. Extremely disappointing at every level.
