I had a recruiter chat first, then spoke with the hiring manager, and finally did a panel interview where I had to give a presentation. Overall it was a good experience.

Behavioral Technical

It was pretty brief and followed the usual steps, like talking to the hiring team, my potential supervisor, and some technical folks. The whole process from start to finish was quite fast, about 1-2 weeks. It wasn't really a panel interview though, like I've seen at other places.

Technical Behavioral

Had a 90 min Skype interview. It was mostly technical questions, like "how do you measure DNA concentration?", but also some behavioral questions, such as "What do you look for in a lab?". I think I did okay on the technical questions since they were pretty easy, but the behavioral ones were tough over Skype. Three different interviewers asked me "what is DNA ligation?". The research associates interviewing me seemed a bit unprepared. They got back to me about 2 weeks later with good tips for the next interview.

  • What reagents are needed for PCR?
