Competitor Group Event Manager Interview Questions
& Process

I applied for the Event Manager role back in January. About a month later, I had a phone interview, but the HR person was super disorganized and didn't even seem to know my name or what job I'd applied for. After asking some general stuff, they said they'd follow up after talking to the hiring manager. I followed up a couple times but never heard anything. Then, a month and a half later, I got an invite to a panel interview. I called them back to say I'd already accepted another job and wouldn't be continuing with their hiring process. Two months after that, I got an email saying they'd found more qualified candidates and wouldn't be moving forward with my application. It was a really messy process, and honestly, I'm glad I didn't end up working there.

Got a fast response after initial contact and they were good about rescheduling my interview because of surgery. But, what I thought would be an informational chat turned into a surprise intensive interview with 5 people from 3 different departments. After that interview day, there was hardly any follow-up from anyone I spoke with, and my emails asking for updates were ignored. This happened twice, two different years, with the company.

My resume was submitted by a contact. About a week later, I was contacted. They interviewed me for an event coordinator role, not the event manager one I applied for. I spoke with a recruiter, not CGI HR. I stopped being interested when I learned the yearly pay was only $35K, which saved them time.
