First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Compassion International.
Software Engineer
It was a pretty standard dev role process, except for a faith based screening. Started with an HR phone screen, then a 1:1 with the Hiring Manager, followed by a team panel interview that included a whiteboard question. Finished with another 1:1 with the Hiring Manager.
- Reverse the provided string X.
Software Developer
First, I had a phone call to chat about my general qualifications. After that, I had a video meeting with the hiring manager and some future coworkers for a more technical chat. We covered the kinds of tech they use at Compassion and what my job would be.
- Can you share your statement of faith?
Software Engineer
I applied online and heard back in about two weeks. The first step was a HireVue interview where I had to record answers to around 4 questions. Then, I did a CodeView interview with two coding problems, one lasting 20 minutes and the other 40 minutes. After that, I had a Zoom call with an IT manager. They asked me technical questions like what's new in tech and about full stack development, plus some other stuff about my experience and resume projects. This call felt pretty laid back. The next interview was on Zoom with about 3 people from the dev team. They asked more specific questions about object oriented design, the SDLC, version control, and how I've dealt with conflict. The final interview was with 3 managers who asked about my work preferences and some questions from earlier interviews. There were also plenty of chances to ask them questions throughout the process. Overall, Compassion is a really good company to interview with and work for!
- Can you return the count of prime numbers within a specified range?
- For example, when provided with the input string “\[1,6\”", what would be the resulting output?
