I was really looking forward to this interview and planned it out about a week in advance. When I went in, the people there were so nice. One person who interviewed me, I later found out they were going to hire me, but they ended up hiring someone else for that spot, which I was kind of relieved about because I didn't really want to work there anyway.

I've applied to Compass 17 times and had 7 video interviews. I'm heading into my 4th in-person interview, and I've also had 2 phone interviews. It's puzzling why I haven't been hired yet, as the interviews always seem to go well and I get positive feedback. Perhaps my age is a factor?

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The initial part of the process was packed but moved pretty quickly. Here's how it went down: First, I had to record myself answering some specific prompts. Then, a recruiter called. After that, it was back-to-back video interviews, one of which was with the hiring manager. Next, I had an assessment that needed to be done within 48 hours. Then, more back-to-back video interviews. The really frustrating part was after I finished all that, I was left hanging for over a month. I ended up having to chase the recruiter for any kind of update, and she just kept saying they were dealing with 'approval issues' and 'HR red tape.' This is particularly weird because I kept talking about how important communication and transparency are throughout the interviews, and everyone seemed to be on board. When I finally heard back, it was just an automated email from a generic address saying they chose another candidate. I also want to mention that I was overqualified for the job (they wanted a year of experience, and I have five) but was still willing to accept the salary they offered. This company seems happy to keep you waiting indefinitely as a backup if their first choice doesn't accept. And then, when they finally decide, they can't even be bothered to give you a call or send an email from the person you've been talking to, especially after all the time and effort you put in. I genuinely enjoyed my conversations and was excited about the opportunity, but this whole experience showed a total lack of professionalism and respect for the people applying. It might be a decent place to work, I don't know, but it's definitely not a pleasant place to interview.

Behavioral Technical

I had a screening call at the beginning of August. Later that week, I had a 1:1 with someone from the hiring team. Then, the following week, I had a final panel interview that was virtual. I reached out to the recruiters after a week and then again after two weeks from the final interview, but I didn't get a decision. About 12 weeks later, the recruiter called to check if I was still interested. It was super unprofessional and a waste of my time, and it really shows what the company culture is like.
