So I had this interview for a .NET Developer role, they were looking for people with 1-4 years of experience. There were four rounds in total. The first round was a technical aptitude test with 20 questions related to asp.net, JQuery, and JavaScript, and I had 20 minutes to solve them. The second round was with the Project Manager, it was a general discussion about me, my career goals, and what I've worked on. The third round was a technical interview that lasted about 25-30 minutes. They asked me questions on basic OOPS concepts, .Net framework, JQuery, SQL, and JavaScript. The interviewer was helpful and explained things when I didn't know the answer. The fourth round was with HR, which was a typical chat about myself, my experience, and salary expectations.

So there were 5 rounds in total. First was an aptitude test, then a personal interview, followed by two technical interviews, and finally an HR round. Since I prefer manual and automation testing, they focused mainly on manual testing questions with fewer automation ones. They also asked questions related to Java and SQL queries. I passed all rounds except the last one. All interviewers were great, but the manager was a letdown. They rejected me solely because of a single spelling error on my resume, which was a terrible experience. The manager's attitude was that there's no room for correcting mistakes, which made me question the very existence of the testing field if such a rigid approach is taken.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Can you tell me about different types of testing?
  • What are your thoughts on OOPS concepts in Java?
  • Can you write some basic SQL Queries?

First, there was a written test with 20 MCQs covering logic, quant, English, and programming. Then, a group discussion where we had to discuss 3 questions with the team. After that, a technical round that was a bit easy but went on for a while. The fourth round involved analytical questions, puzzles, and more technical stuff. The fifth round was an HR discussion, and the final round was a managerial discussion.

The whole day was taken up by the interview process. A technical test was given at 11 am and the results came back at 4 pm. Following that, there was a screening round, a technical face-to-face, and a managerial round. There seemed to be a lack of coordination regarding who submitted resumes and filled out forms, and the staff didn't seem aware of people's locations. Despite this, the staff were good, polite, and nice.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • What are the concepts of manual testing?
  • Can you explain basic SQL?
