So I had a few rounds of interviews. It kicked off with HR looking over my resume. After that, I had an interview with three people from the team. It was mainly behavioral questions, and they asked why I was drawn to Commonwealth Financial.

The interview process was a while ago. It was very thorough but pretty easy. I met with the entire team after 2 rounds. First, I met with the manager and senior team members, and then with the rest of the team. The HR recruiter was great and answered all of my questions.

Behavioral Technical

Had a screener call on April 19, 2023, which was great with the recruiter. Then, on April 26, 2023, I had an interview with the hiring manager, who is the Senior Director of Marketing Services. She was late and seemed distracted, and honestly, I think she'd already chosen someone. Even though I gave her specific examples of my experience with managing newsletters, emails, blogs, and PR projects, she said I wasn't experienced enough. I asked her a question about the legal process because it's a financial network, and she was looking at her phone and then acted like I never asked. She mentioned the team thinks they need three comms managers, but she feels one good one would be enough. When I tried to ask a follow-up question, she cut me off, shook her head, and asked if I had more questions because she had a 10 am call, even though it was only 9:55. Because of this interaction, I withdrew my application; I wouldn't want to work for her. The job description mentioned the top salary for this role was 96k.

Behavioral Technical Other

The process included a recruiter interview, a hiring manager interview, and an in-office interview. It was a good experience, and everyone was friendly. Before the interview, they have you come in early to complete an application, which involves a personality and behavioral test. This test is a required part of the interview process, and it's not something they tell you about beforehand. It's known to have inconsistent results for different people.
