Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Commonwealth Bank of Australia.
Intern
It was a straightforward process. You apply online, then do an online assessment with behavioural, numerical, and IQ questions. After that, there's a video interview that's behavioural and lasts about 20 minutes with 9 questions. Finally, there's an assessment center.
- Can you tell me about yourself, your interests, and your field of study?
Intern
So, first they'll chat with you a bit about yourself, then ask some basic technical questions and some behavioral ones. For the behavioral questions, make sure to answer using the STAR format. The behavioral questions usually focus on challenges you've faced, your experience working in teams, and the skills you've picked up along the way.
- What are the various risks that a bank encounters?
Intern
They asked me a bunch of questions and then I got the offer, but then they never replied back to me, which was a really bad experience. It's really disappointing when you don't hear back, especially after you showed interest and put in effort.
- Tell me about yourself and what sparked your interest in this role and company.
- What would you say are your biggest strengths and weaknesses?
- How do you approach and manage challenging or tough situations?
