First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Comerica.

I talked with the hiring manager, then with HR. It took some patience to get the onsite interview scheduled. The onsite itself was nice, the office looked great and people were friendly. I think I got too nervous and might have oversold myself, I tried to answer detailed questions with matching detail. You might also interview with peers and managers from other departments. Ironically, I found the relaxed interviewers more challenging because I was nervous. They were accommodating when I needed a drink or to use the restroom between interviews. Even people I passed in the hall or elevator were friendly.
- Why are you looking to leave your current job?
Technical Analyst
I applied through the Comerica Bank website after chatting with their reps at a career fair. First, I had a quick phone chat with HR, mostly about my school projects and past work. Then, I got invited to a hiring event on campus. It was a well-organized event with a group of us interviewing. We started by introducing ourselves, then the interviewers introduced themselves and the company/position. After that, I had three separate 1:1 interviews with managers. These were all behavioral questions, with a bit of time left to ask them questions. The interviewers had questions written down and asked different ones to each person, but everyone got the same set overall. They were all really nice and excited about their jobs at Comerica. The questions felt fair and not surprising. I got an offer a couple of weeks later. The bank also does a background check, drug test, and fingerprinting, which is standard. The offer was competitive for entry-level roles.
- Tell me about your behavioral experiences.
Analyst
The interview process was pretty long. They didn't ask much about me, but focused on problem-solving questions. For example, I was asked how I'd convince other team members to align with my viewpoint. If the interviewer didn't find my reasoning convincing, I failed. The interviewer was kind of tough.
- Can you share an instance where you convinced teammates to agree with your perspective? The interviewer will judge if it's convincing enough.
