It was in person. We talked about my background, why I wanted this job, and I shared examples of when I helped out a customer or solved a problem. It was about 20 minutes long and there were two people interviewing me.

It was a good interview process. They were very thorough and let me know exactly what the job entails. They seemed interested in my long term prospects, my willingness to learn on the job, take on responsibilities, and grow into a management position.

Behavioral Technical

Applied online and then the manager called me after a couple weeks to set up an interview. He was very to-the-point and not the friendliest. The interview was in the morning before customers arrived, and I was interviewed by 3 people: the manager and two other workers. The manager seemed unfriendly again. He liked that I brought my resume, even though I had no experience. I think he forgot who I was from the online application. They mostly asked behavioral questions ('what would you do if...') and I answered like anyone would, but the manager kept questioning me and acting like every situation at the place was awful and had no solution. He asked some weird questions sometimes, or twisted the questions after my response. The other two people were nice, but he just seemed very uptight about everything. Most of the girls working there seemed to be college students just a few years older than me. I didn't get the job because of experience, I think. I sort of expected it because the manager hinted at it. You should prepare questions on Glassdoor! Don't be discouraged, this is just my experience with one location. The manager seemed bothered that I wanted to work with kids because the store allows adults and the elderly to come in alone.
