& Process

Had a phone screen, then a virtual interview with 2 people. After that, I had an in-person interview with 3 people, where they utilized panel interviews. I guess they figured it's faster to meet with everyone at once instead of multiple 30-minute meetings. They told me I'd know by the end of the day, but I had to call them the next day to get the answer. Their communication could have been better, but overall, it wasn't a bad interview.

The first round was with the hiring manager, who I'd be working with. They were great, even staying an extra 20 minutes to chat. They seemed to see my potential and what I could bring to the team. The second round was with a director who felt very scripted, like they were just going through a checklist. It felt impersonal, like I was just data. They were polite, but not as engaged as the first interviewer. We realized during that interview that my goals were different from the role, so it ended up not being a big deal.

I reached out to the hiring manager on LinkedIn first and then applied on the company website. The next day, the recruiter called to set up a phone screen. After that, I had three interviews over Microsoft Teams with the hiring manager and two other managers. Then, I went onsite for interviews with the director, the hiring manager again, the project manager, and the HR manager. A week later, I followed up with the recruiter. She said she was getting good feedback from the team and told me to wait until after the holidays to hear about the next steps. But after the holidays, the recruiter sent me an email saying I didn't get the job. It was really disappointing to go through so many interviews, hear good things, and then get rejected. I think they might have preferred internal candidates. The whole thing took place from November 9th to December 4th.

So the interview process had 5 rounds in total. It started with an online assessment, then a CV screening. After that, there was an HR interview, followed by a meeting with the direct manager. The last round was with the VP. Even though I got to the final stage, they ended up picking another candidate. The HR person at Coloplast was really nice, one of the best I've met; she even tried to help me find another position, but that didn't work out either because the hiring manager wanted someone with more work experience. Everyone I met was super friendly. They seemed really interested in my enthusiasm and commitment to the company.
