I applied for the Senior Lead Engineer – Materials Modelling role and went through several interview rounds. I made sure to communicate my salary expectations upfront before the first interview. After the interviews, they asked for my documents like salary slips, passport, and Aadhaar, which usually means they are close to making an offer. Salary talks happened on July 3, but the offer was much lower than what we had initially discussed. I reminded them of my expectations and said I was open to finding a middle ground. For about two weeks, I heard nothing, and then I got a standard rejection email with no explanation. I felt the whole process was disappointing and not very transparent, especially considering the time I put in. I wasn't even given a chance to negotiate. If you have specialized experience, especially from research, be careful and confirm compensation details early on. The interview discussions were technically good, but the overall hiring process lacked transparency and timely communication, particularly at the end. I hope this feedback helps create better and more respectful hiring experiences, especially for those moving from research to industry.

So, it was a 3-round process, and honestly, almost everything was technical. Even the senior manager was really focused on the technical parts. The difficulty was medium. They asked about my previous projects, some basic programming questions, and my engineering subjects. Also, some basic aerodynamics and OOP in C++, like how it's different from other programming paradigms. There were also questions about PIP.

So I did this HireVue thing first, then a recruiter called me to set up an interview. They scheduled it for a day I told them I wasn't free, so I had to email them to reschedule. No response for a week, so I had to get another recruiter to sort it out for me. The interview itself went fine, but then like a month later, they emailed to say they canceled the position. It's wild because their slogan is "AEROSPACE REDEFINED" but they can't even manage recruiting. They said "We know your time is valuable and we hope the time spent preparing and interviewing with us was well spent" which just makes canceling the position later unacceptable and a complete waste of everyone's time.
