First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Collins Aerospace.
Electrical Engineer
It wasn't too hard. Mostly behavioral questions, but you'll be fine if you answer them with technical insights. Make sure you come across as friendly and personable. Other than that, you should have a good interview.
- What makes you want to join Collins?
- What about working in the aerospace industry appeals to you?
Electrical Engineer
I had a phone call with the recruiter first, which was pretty chill and had like 1 or 2 behavioral questions. Then, I had a Zoom call with the hiring manager and some team members, mostly talking about my experience and some situational stuff. The last round was virtual too, with the chief of engineering and the hiring manager. They asked some technical and behavioral questions. It was pretty short, I think because they felt I didn't have enough relevant experience.
- If you were tasked with creating a new design, what details would you seek out?
- How would you approach comparing two operational amplifiers?
Electrical Engineer
I had two phone screening interviews with the hiring managers, each about 45 minutes long. These included behavioral questions and some easy technical ones. After that, I had an 'on site' interview via zoom because of social distancing in Oregon. This part involved a mix of technical and behavioral questions. The technical part covered basic electronics and some communication protocol knowledge.
- Can you explain the differences between i2c and SPI?
