Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Colliers.
Intern
It was a quick 30-minute screening call, without video for the first round. They asked some basic questions about my interest in the industry and my coursework, plus other questions to gauge my soft skills. It was pretty easy overall, and the interviewer was really nice the whole time.
- Tell me about yourself.
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- What coursework are you interested in?
Intern
It was a pretty straightforward interview process. First, I had a phone interview with a recruiter from their headquarters. It was a very basic behavioral interview focusing on why I'd be a good fit and my interest in the role. The second round was a Zoom interview with two people simultaneously, but it was quite relaxed. This interview also focused on behavioral questions, specifically about my skills and experiences from school. I was a freshman at the time and didn't get the offer for this specific position, but I believe with more interview experience, this would have been an easy process to navigate. I actually ended up securing a different summer internship with the company, just not in the brokerage research role I initially applied for. It's a great company with enjoyable outings and friendly people!
- Can you describe your experience using R Studio?
- Could you elaborate on your skills and experiences from school?
- What makes you a good candidate for this position?
Intern
The interview process was smooth, a simple online application, followed by a telephone interview and an online assessment centre. However, in my assessment centre stage, I was asked about my personal political opinion which put me off the internship opportunity
- What are your personal political views?
