Collective Health begins with a group webcam info session with other candidates. Then, a take-home assignment in an Excel sheet is given, asking questions about benefits and healthcare terms you should know. Passing that leads to two back-to-back video interviews, which are standard behavioral interviews. If successful, you're invited on-site to meet about 5 people. Most interviews are behavioral, but one is a case study, similar to the homework but you need to solve it yourself, though they offer some help. The whole thing took over 2 months and I didn't get an offer, but it was positive.

We started with a webinar with the Operations team, including a Senior Operations Associate, the Operations Director, and a Recruiter. They gave us an intro to the company, its business model, and the OA role, including a 'day in the life' and a Q&A. Then there was a homework assignment using sample insurance claims data for a fake family. It was a 10-question assignment, and we had a week to do it. After that, we had callback web interviews with two current team members, focusing on behavioral questions. Finally, we had back-to-back onsite interviews with four people from Operations and one from Biz Dev or Marketing. Most questions were behavioral, but some interviewers asked about teamwork, and one gave a case study question about a hypothetical customer.

The process started with an info-session, followed by an Excel homework assignment. Then there were two phone interviews with current Operations Associates. After that, I had 6 back-to-back on-site interviews. These included interviews with Operations managers, a product manager, and other OAs. One of the interviews with the product manager was a case interview. Although I invested nearly two months in the process and felt I had a good connection with everyone, and they seemed to like me, on the day the offer was expected, I was told I wasn't a good fit and they couldn't explain why. While I understand companies invest resources in recruiting and might have internal constraints on sharing hiring details, this felt disrespectful, especially for a company claiming to value transparency. It left me wondering what went wrong and replaying my four-hour on-site interview extensively.
