Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Coldwell Banker.
Marketing Coordinator
I was invited to a face-to-face interview where they told me I'd need to do an assessment to check my skills. After I got home, I got an email saying I made it to the next round and giving me instructions for the assessment. It had six tasks and 48 hours to finish. It was a tough deadline, and I worked super hard on it because I really wanted the job after learning about the company. I sent my files through cloud sharing. It's been a month and they haven't even opened my files (or at least, I haven't gotten an email saying they downloaded them). It's really unprofessional and a waste of time. I could've done something else with that time and energy. So disappointed.
- Can you discuss your past marketing experience and any relevant skills you possess?
Marketing Coordinator
The interview process can differ depending on the office. In most cases, the managing brokers handle the interviews themselves. It's a relatively entry-level position, so the interview and the required skills aren't overly demanding. Being personable is important, and be aware that you'll be working with many older and perhaps less tech-savvy agents.
- Can you describe your experience in marketing?
- How would you apply your marketing expertise to the real estate industry?
Marketing Coordinator
First, they did a quick phone screening, and then I went in for an in-person interview. A couple weeks later, they invited me back to show my skills using design software like InDesign and Photoshop.
- Are you familiar with using InDesign?
