It started with a 30-minute screening call with HR, followed by three more interviews. Two of these interviews were technical, and one focused on management skills. The process was smooth and communicative, with no delays between interviews. HR stayed in touch throughout. Although I didn't receive an offer, HR offered to set up a feedback session on my assessment, which was a nice touch. Overall, it was a positive experience.

Raj Tarat, a recruiter at Coinbase, contacted me about an Engineering Manager role while I was on vacation with my kids. I made sure to find a good spot with internet for the screening interview. Raj's style was a bit arrogant and the questions felt generic. Even though he knew I was in a remote spot with my kids, he still wanted me to do an assessment by the end of the week. I cleared my schedule to get it done. But after I tried to follow up by email and message, he totally ignored me. It was really frustrating and disappointing.

Behavioral Technical

I recently went through an interview process where the first step was a people management interview, followed by technical and system design interviews. The initial 45-minute conversation focused on situational questions and inquiries about leadership style and team motivation. I felt the conversation went well, as I was able to share examples of how I've handled similar situations and presented my perspectives on their questions, keeping the STAR method in mind. However, the next day, I received an email stating they wouldn't be proceeding with my application. Although I anticipated a challenging process given their approach to finding the best candidate, I expected to at least move past the initial people management stage to showcase my technical skills. I had previously inquired if it would be a competency-based interview and was advised to focus on the company's mission and values. I reached out for feedback to understand areas for improvement but received no response. It was disappointing because I believe this would be an interesting company to work for, and I would have liked the chance to demonstrate my suitability for the role and the company.
