The interview process was really long, like ~30-60 days according to their own page, and it felt like my time and effort didn't matter. They cancelled interviews multiple times, sometimes with no notice, and I often had to chase them for updates. It was messy communication-wise between the hiring team, recruiter, and scheduler, and they used template emails that didn't acknowledge how my time was disrespected. After the final step, I had to ask about the offer, and was told no. They offered feedback, which I accepted, but never heard back. The job did sound appealing with the salary, remote work, and crypto industry, but the experience was full of red flags. I won't reapply or recommend it, though everyone I spoke to was friendly and the interviews weren't too hard.

It kicked off with this odd aptitude test where they asked roughly 100 questions, a lot of them repeating the same 7 questions but phrased differently. After that, there were some logic and reasoning puzzles. The rest of it was pretty standard, just a couple of calls and interviews with the recruiter, who was really helpful, and the hiring manager. Pretty typical process for the finance industry.

I applied online and after two weeks, I had a phone screen that went well. Then, I waited three weeks to talk to the hiring manager, which also went well. It took another two weeks to hear back, and I was told to get ready for six hours of interviews and a presentation. I gave them some times that worked, but they scheduled some of it during my vacation. I ended up spending two days in a hotel room getting ready and putting together a presentation. The first day was tough but good. The second day, I had another interview with the hiring manager, but they said really bad things about me and my work, basically calling it worthless. I was supposed to give a virtual presentation, but by then, I couldn't do it. I looked at the slides and knew I wasn't getting the job and that my 15+ years of experience had been insulted by someone who didn't even know me. Like other Coinbase interviewees, I never heard back. They made me sign an NDA. It was a long presentation. I gave up my vacation because I really believed in the company and the role, and I wasted time and money on this place.
