Started with an HR screen, then a case study specific to the role involving minimal data analysis and a presentation. Followed by Zoom interviews with vague finance/consulting questions and some high-level discussion about Coinbase strategy.

The interview experience was pretty bad, mostly because the recruiter was incompetent. They stood me up for the first interview, asked me to redo assessments I had already completed for a different role within the company, and asked repetitive questions in both interviews, showing they weren't paying attention. This whole thing really changed my view of the company. Coinbase is doing great work, which is why I applied, but the inconsistency in the quality of people I dealt with is frankly appalling. For reference, the corp dev team's interview process was much better, and all the people I spoke with for that role were great.

Had a call with HR who said my experience was a great fit. The conversation with HR went well, but when I asked about their timeline for filling the role, they mentioned April, which is three months out. This raised a flag for me. The HR interviewer then said she'd arrange an interview with the hiring manager. However, by the end of the week, I received an email stating they weren't moving forward. It's disappointing how Coinbase seems to prioritize hiring friends, similar to Facebook. This hiring practice is still evident and easily spotted on LinkedIn.
