First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cogent Infotech Corp.
Senior Software Engineer
The interviewers were pretty rude and seemed narrow-minded. They didn't even introduce themselves, which was weird. Honestly, I'd say don't bother with this interview. The questions themselves were easy enough, like basic SQL and a couple of list manipulation tasks.
- How would you write a SQL query to join two tables and then group the data?
- Can you perform two operations on lists?
Software Engineer
The recruiter who called me seemed shady from the get-go. When the call started, the connection was bad and the person was hard to understand. He was pushy and adamant about me attending a Java Bootcamp as soon as the call started, and keep in mind I have never talked to anyone at this company before this. I received no explanation or details about what/who this company is or the position I would be filling. Everything about the call seemed like red flags. Be careful when talking to this company.
- Can you tell me about your authorization to work in this country?
- Are you interested in working with technologies such as Java and Python?
- Are you currently employed or still searching for a job?
Software Engineer
The interview covered some basic Java programming concepts, like identifiers, the differences between access specifiers, object-oriented principles, and the advantages of Java, including abstraction. It was a good experience overall because the interviewers were nice and encouraging, and they even offered hints when I was stuck.
- Can you explain the difference between the public and protected access specifiers in Java?
