Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Codilis & Associates PC.
Legal Assistant
I applied and got a call from HR the next day. After a quick phone screen, I had an interview scheduled for the next day. The interview itself was straightforward with basic questions about my experience and some simple assessments. I was expecting to hear back within a week, but never did. After two weeks, I reached out to the interviewer and received a standard rejection email. While I get that applicants usually have to follow up, their handling of this was really unprofessional. Telling someone you'll reply by a certain date and then ghosting them is not okay. I don't think it was because they were swamped, as they got back to me for an interview within 48 hours of my application. Either way, I'm glad I didn't get the job, as I suspect employees are treated like disposable items there, which aligns with company reviews.
- What job would you pick if you could have any in the world?
Legal Assistant
The interview process was pretty standard. They started by going over my background in education and experience. Then, there were some competency exams, which were easy. I also had to take a wpm typing test and a basic math test. I think there might have been a third test, but I can't remember. Overall, it was a pretty easy interview process. If they liked me, they said they would bring in some management for more questions and an introduction to my specific department.
- In what ways has your education equipped you for a career in law?
- How has your background in education and experience prepared you for this role?
Legal Assistant
The interview process was quite informal, and it really depends on who you get as an interviewer. In the second round, there were two interviewers. They asked typical questions like how you've handled issues with coworkers and customers, and also about your future plans. Basically, the standard questions you'd expect in any interview.
- Can you describe a situation where you had to deal with an issue involving a co-worker, and another situation involving a customer?
- What are your future aspirations?
