They asked me about my experience, my college background, and my student teaching background. They also asked about any extra field work I had done in a school. I brought my portfolio with me, which they really liked! They also asked if I knew about their school and what they stood for.
- Could you describe your student teaching experience?
- Which workshop models do you incorporate in your teaching?
- How would you rate your communication skills with others?

So, the interview process involved a first round where I spoke with the principal, and then a second round where I met with some other teachers. It was mostly just a meet and greet to check skills and certifications. Nothing too wild, but it did feel a bit strange that they seemed unwilling to answer questions about the high turnover at this supposedly top-ranked school, or why the job ad seemed a bit off. It became clear later on, after a semester, that there were indeed some issues.
- What makes you want to leave your current school?

I applied online using the Cobb County Star System. A lot of jobs on Star are not real positions. School administrators have to post open teaching jobs but don't have to consider the Star applications. They usually hire people they know or who were recommended. I had to email the principal and assistant principal my resume for any position I was interested in. The entire process took one day. The interview was a panel with the principal, assistant principal, and grade level teachers. Everyone asked questions. The principal asked me to bring a portfolio, and they kept it!
- Can you describe a challenging situation you faced and how you resolved it?
- How would you describe your approach to classroom management?
