Behavioral Presentation

It's a two-round interview process, and the CEO is involved in one of them. It’s pretty direct but also really thorough, and there’s a role-playing part. We’re mainly trying to see if people would be a good fit for our really committed culture, making sure they align with our values and how we work as a team.

They got back to me quickly after I applied and called to set up a time to chat on the phone. That was to get a feel for the person behind the application. After that 15 minute call, the next step was an interview where I had to record myself answering some questions. Then, I had a zoom interview with an assistant manager. During this interview, I learned more about the role, but I noticed they left out a bunch of stuff about the job, or it was different from what was posted. Like, even though it said "on-site," they expect you to travel around different areas, going door to door. They don't even have a permanent office. Plus, they don't offer a base salary, and it's all commission-based, which gave me a worse impression than they initially let on. I could already feel the burnout coming, so I decided not to go to the final interview.

This was my very first job interview, and I went in thinking 'part time' meant I'd be working 12-16 hours a week. But during the interview, they told me it was actually only a 4-hour contract. That wouldn't really work for me since I have a 30-minute train ride to get to Belfast. If I'd known it was just 4 hours, I wouldn't have bothered coming. The interview itself wasn't too bad, though I kind of felt like I wouldn't get the job based on how the interviewers were acting.
