Account Manager
This interview process was nothing short of comical. It starts with a large Zoom call where every candidate for the role joins in, creating an almost game-show-like atmosphere. Eventually, you're moved into a breakout room with one other candidate, where you're interviewed side by side, taking turns answering questions about the company and your experience. Only after all of this do they finally reveal the real job description and expectations—none of which were mentioned in the original application. Turns out, the role is essentially soliciting Verizon home internet to small businesses on a commission-only basis. Coast Inc.’s business model relies on recruiting entry-level solicitors and, after just 2-6 weeks, "promoting" them to account managers. This so-called promotion means receiving assigned sales territories, where you're expected to commute daily at 9:30 AM to solicit businesses in person. On top of that, there's a mandatory company-wide Zoom meeting at 7:30 AM every morning, where they seem to glorify their higher-ups and push the idea that new recruits can make huge money. The whole setup feels like a textbook pyramid scheme, designed to make employees believe they’re part of something meaningful when, in reality, it’s just aggressive door-to-door sales disguised as a legitimate career opportunity. Nothing about this role is based in Chicago, and the actual job has little to do with what was originally advertised.

Sales Representative
It's a two-round interview process, and the CEO is involved in one of them. It’s pretty direct but also really thorough, and there’s a role-playing part. We’re mainly trying to see if people would be a good fit for our really committed culture, making sure they align with our values and how we work as a team.

Sales Representative
They got back to me quickly after I applied and called to set up a time to chat on the phone. That was to get a feel for the person behind the application. After that 15 minute call, the next step was an interview where I had to record myself answering some questions. Then, I had a zoom interview with an assistant manager. During this interview, I learned more about the role, but I noticed they left out a bunch of stuff about the job, or it was different from what was posted. Like, even though it said "on-site," they expect you to travel around different areas, going door to door. They don't even have a permanent office. Plus, they don't offer a base salary, and it's all commission-based, which gave me a worse impression than they initially let on. I could already feel the burnout coming, so I decided not to go to the final interview.

Customer Relations Representative
So as others have mentioned, this company is misleading and a bit shady. I did a lot of research and couldn't figure out their product or service. The only info I found was a Glassdoor review mentioning Amazon Keys. Coast Incorporated sells Amazon Keys. Hopefully, this sentence helps others find out what they actually sell. The job description, social media, and website all use vague terms. Their website is focused on hiring, not customer info, which is a red flag. I did a pre-interview with pre-recorded questions. It was easy because I had unlimited time and 2 retries, though refreshing the browser might allow more attempts. I was then selected for an interview the next morning where I learned the company does door-to-door sales for Amazon Keys, which are security boxes for apartment buildings to secure Amazon packages. The leads come from apartments complaining about stolen packages, so it's not strictly door-to-door sales. It's 100% commission-based, with earnings depending on building size. They claim $1,000-$2,000 per week, but I'd be skeptical. No insurance or benefits until promotion, and no paid time off due to commission structure. The company's social media gave a cult-like vibe with group photos and outings. The interviewer talked a lot about being friends with coworkers and hanging out outside work, which, combined with other factors, felt weird. If you want a door-to-door sales job, look elsewhere for a more transparent company. I was invited to a third interview but declined.
