Group Technical

The hiring process, which I went through after being recruited from an old IIT campus, had two main parts: a Group Discussion (GD) and an Interview. For the GD, our group was given the topic "Energy Prospects of India and Challenges ahead". The interviewers really value data, so including relevant facts in your arguments will make you look more credible. It's a good idea to try and take charge, present different aspects of the topic, and then let others share their thoughts. If the group starts going off-topic, gently steer them back. Remember to be polite, speak clearly and audibly, and be confident. Although, it's worth noting that no one is actually eliminated during the GD round.

There were three steps in the interview process. First, there was a group discussion for eligible students. Then, for students shortlisted from the GD, there was document verification. Finally, there was a personal interview. The GD was based on CGPA (according to caste category). Each person got 2-3 minutes to speak, and only one chance to speak. Before the GD started, everyone got 2-3 minutes to prepare. After the GD, students were shortlisted based on their performance. Then, they verified all the required documents. Having any national-level certificate in sports or NCC gives an advantage. After verification, the interview was conducted. There were 4 members on the interview panel, and the interview was completely technical.
