First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CNA.
Business Analyst
I applied for this job on Oct 29th, 2014 through an employee referral. I didn't hear back for a few weeks, so I checked with my friend. Finally, HR got in touch on Nov. 20th. After that, things moved faster. I had a phone interview and then three hiring manager interviews on Dec 3rd. They mentioned they wanted to fill the role by Dec 31st, 2014. I knew the holidays might slow things down. I emailed HR on Dec 16th and Dec 23rd for an update, but got no response either time. On Jan 13th, HR replied saying they were waiting for news on next steps and would contact me soon. I never heard from CNA again and stopped following up in mid-Feb. In May, my contact at CNA let me know they had hired someone a while back.
- Can you manage several projects at the same time?
Business Analyst
I had interviews with three different people who each work in a different area of the department. It was a professional interview and they asked questions about the job I applied for and also about what I do in my current role. My advice is to make sure you research the company and the specific job, and don't forget to ask questions.
- Can you tell me about your greatest strengths?
- What is your comfort level when working with management?
Business Analyst
The interview process started with a phone screen with HR. Following that, there were three interviews on the same day. A red flag was that the job was advertised in Lisle, but during the interview, it was stated to be in Chicago. Another red flag was that incorrect information was provided for two of the interviews, which caused delays. Fortunately, I received an offer elsewhere.
- Can you share an example of a challenge you've encountered?
- Describe a project you were involved in.
- Can you tell me about a time you worked effectively in a team?
