First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CNA.
Accountant
It was a typical interview, they ask you a lot of common interview questions. I met with three different group for an interview. The first one was someone that you can ask any questions about the company or job itself and they will take you to starbucks to make you feel a little less nervous. After that you will get to meet the hiring manager and last one are two other people below the manager.
- Why do you want to work for this company?
Accountant
My initial interview was for the ARBA program. CNA sent an email to students who qualified and attended job fairs. The first round of interviews were on campus with a Director. They also had a greeter from the program to keep you company while you waited. Within a week I was contacted for a second round interview in Chicago. Thursday night was a dinner with HR and others from the program. Friday there was a small breakfast before 3 interviews with people from Director to Senior Vice President levels. It ended with a lunch with another interviewer. There was an ARBA buddy who walked you to interviews and helped calm nerves. The job offer came about a week after the interviews.
- Can you explain how insurance companies generate revenue?
Accountant
I interviewed on campus for 30 mins with two people. They asked me one technical question about where insurance would be in relation to any of the financial statements. Then I had a second round interview at the CNA office.
