First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CME.
Senior Software Engineer
It was a three-phase process: a screening, then a first technical round, and finally a second technical round. The screening was easy, with usual questions. The technical rounds, each about an hour, usually had one from the client and the other from 'Cme'. They asked about everything.
- Questions about algorithms, specifically Recursion and divide and conquer.
- Questions about SQL, focusing on performance enhancement.
- Questions about Architecture designs.
Senior Android Developer
The interview process started with a recruiter call, then a technical interview. The technical interview covered Android basics, delved into advanced Android concepts, coroutines, and dependency injection, and concluded with a coding problem.
- Tell me about your problem-solving skills.
- Can you explain coroutines?
- What is dependency injection and how have you used it?
Full Stack Developer
HR from CME reached out on linkedin for my cv and a meeting. I was interested in CME (good glassdoor rating + positive social media presence), so we had a meeting. She said everything was good and would pass my cv to a technical person. I was surprised I didn't hear back, even if I wasn't a good fit, they should have kept me updated. I emailed her about the position, still no reply. Very unprofessional.
- Can you share an example of something you found challenging to work with?
Risk Quant
I applied through Glassdoor and had an initial HR phone call where they asked about my background and work eligibility. After that, I was scheduled for an on-site interview with members of the risk team. We talked about skill sets, and they seemed particularly interested in candidates with data science experience. Overall, the experience felt pretty chill.
- Can you discuss option pricing and any open questions you have in data science?
- Describe how you would implement a vega hedge for a call option.
