Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CME Group.
Intern
The interview was about data structures and algorithms. They also asked about operating systems and database management systems. Then they asked me about my internship experience, the role I was assigned, and my contributions to the final project.
- Can you give a brief overview of yourself?
Risk Intern
There were two rounds, one was technical and the other had more finance questions, like swaps, bonds, yield curves, options, python coding, and Greeks. The interviewers were friendly. One interview was online, and the other was onsite. It wasn't too difficult, but I should have prepared more.
- Can you explain how to price swaps?
- What are the Greeks?
Intern
The interview process consisted of three rounds. Initially, there was a recruiter call to discuss my background and fit for the role. Following that, I had two interviews with managerial team members to discuss my technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and past projects. The last interview was with the Senior Director, focusing on my strategic fit, leadership potential, and long-term prospects. I got the offer after that last interview.
- Can you tell me about a time you had to resolve a conflict within your team?
