Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CME Group.
Analyst
This was a recruiter call. They asked about my connections and how strong they are, my background, my motivation for joining CME, and my knowledge about the company. They also probed on my ability to work with a younger manager and handle stressful situations where people might be upset about financial losses.
- Tell me about your network and the depth of your relationships.
- Could you elaborate on your professional experience?
- What specifically draws you to CME?
Analyst
They invited me for an interview, which was a mix of technical and general questions. Team members interviewed me in turns. The whole process lasted about an hour, during which I spoke with several team members. They seemed pretty good.
- Could you give me an overview of your resume?
- Can you elaborate on certain aspects of your CV?
- What is the function of this company?
Analyst
I had the initial HR phone screen and then withdrew. It was all behavioral questions. The interviewer made an extremely racist comment towards the Asian community. I asked what backgrounds tend to do well in this role and she said "We see a lot of Chinese people since it is such a quantitative role."
- Could you walk me through your resume?
- Do you have any experience with scripting languages?
