Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CMCSS.
Teacher
Simple questions about my subject expertise and teaching style/routines were asked by the principal and a few other administrative staff in the school admin room on a weekday afternoon.
- Can you describe a typical day in your classroom?
- How would you describe your teaching style?
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
Substitute Teacher
There was one day where a bunch of people were interviewed at the same time. You had to fill out some forms first, and then those forms were used during the interview. The interview was one-on-one. You found out that day if you got the job, and then you had to fill out a few more things before training day.
- What do you do when a student is disruptive in class and doesn't pay attention even after you've asked them several times?
Teacher
The interview was pretty laid-back with a few administrators. They were really nice and wanted to get to know me. I had a good time chatting with them and they let me know about the offer pretty quickly.
- Tell me about your teaching experience.
