Behavioral Presentation

I had a quick video call with the hiring manager first. Later, I went in for an on-site interview. It was nice to do in person after so many video calls. The on-site had three individual chats with team members and then a chat with the hiring manager too. They all seemed good, though one person was a bit intense with the eye contact. She asked about my past jobs. Overall, it felt positive. It's been weeks, and I haven't heard back, and the job isn't posted anymore. It feels like they ghosted me, which shows a lack of organization or courtesy. A simple email saying I wasn't a fit would have been better.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I was reached out by the director of design for a 30-min introductory Zoom call. Then, I had a 1-hour portfolio review with about 5 people from the design team. The following round involved a 1-hour whiteboarding session focused on a design challenge, with 3 company designers. The final stage consisted of 30-minute Zoom calls with 6 individuals across various departments. About 10 days post-final round, they indicated they wanted to extend an offer. We negotiated the initial low offer to a good salary and signing bonus, which they mentioned was the highest they had offered. The whole process spanned 35-40 days. Just as I was about to accept, I noticed the offer letter lacked the promised visa sponsorship. They asked what specific wording or clause about visa sponsorship (which they had verbally assured multiple times) would make me comfortable signing. I provided my terms. Two days later, they called to withdraw the offer, citing

So the interview involved a coding round first, then system design and behavioral. The recruiter told me the coding part would be just fizzbuzz, but it was a hackerrank test. I realized late into it that they were also looking at code efficiency and memory usage, as some tests timed out. Since it was a hackerrank test, I couldn't ask anyone for clarification. Because the recruiter didn't really explain the coding round details, I also didn't bother optimizing my code further and ended up getting rejected.
