Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CluePoints.
Machine Learning Engineer
Had a quick HR phone chat, then a one-hour technical interview with two ML engineers. After that, a take-home test, and finally, a last interview with two more people to go over the results.
- Could you describe a project from your CV?
ML Engineer
We had an initial chat with HR, then a technical discussion about ML. After that, I was given an ML assessment, specifically on NLP. I then presented this assessment to some technical folks, and finally, I had an interview with the CEO.
- Could you explain overfitting and strategies to prevent it?
- Tell me about your understanding of core Machine Learning principles.
- Please complete this ML assessment with a focus on Natural Language Processing.
Machine Learning Engineer
Applied online, had an initial HR chat which went well. Next was a technical interview that was alright. They said they'd let me know about the next step, a tech challenge, within a week. It took two weeks for the HRO to get back to me saying I didn't get it. No real feedback, just that they'd already hired someone and stopped interviewing. The process felt slow with a lot of waiting. The people were nice but maybe not the most upfront.
- Can you discuss your past experiences?
- What can you tell me about your academic background?
