I saw ads for Stock and Sales Associate jobs at Club Monaco and applied online. My tip is to call the store first to see if they're hiring, then bring your resume in person and ask for the hiring manager. You gotta look the part, so check out their current style beforehand. If it's not you, don't apply. About a week after applying online, a hiring manager called and invited me for a group interview, which they seem to do a lot to filter candidates. It was chill and friendly with three other guys. They mostly asked stock-related questions, so be ready. Sitting in the middle might give you time to think. Don't repeat answers, smile, but don't be a jerk. Pretend to listen when others talk, and make eye contact. If you're social, it's easy. The dress code is the hardest part. They said we'd hear back in 48 hours to 4 days. I didn't, so I called. Don't be scared to follow up if they miss their deadline; it shows you're dedicated. I got an email from a hiring manager to meet the store manager. I replied nicely, and that was it. During the second part, they ask more personal stuff, focusing on work ethic and efficiency. They usually give the job after a one-on-one, but if they spend weeks hiring, you're likely a high-potential candidate.

I got interviewed by a store manager from another store, she was very professional and honest. I first had to fill out an application. Then, as we walked, she asked me why I would want to do stock when I was a sales associate. Once we sat, she asked me why I chose Club's out of all stock rooms in retail. Then she asked me to describe myself and how I'm aggressive. After that, she asked how I would deal with an underperforming colleague and what I'd do if they weren't receptive to my suggestions. A keyholder interrupted us for the till and she was gone for about 5 minutes. When she returned, we continued and she asked about my feelings on teamwork and what it means to me. Then she gave me a scenario about coming back from days off to a messy stock room with markdowns and new boxes for a flip happening on Sunday, and asked in which order I'd tackle the tasks. Finally, she asked about the qualities of a successful stock person and for me to ask questions. I asked for the official job description and duties, my compensation and hourly wage, and when I should hear back.

The interview was pretty straightforward, and the questions weren't difficult. Having a diploma in interior design helped me get the position, and they ultimately hired me as a stock associate.
