I applied on the website and got a call from HR. The HR screening call was set up soon after, then it went to the first round. The first round was like everyone said. The interviewer asked about dice probability, conditional probability, a dog sighting probability question, and some hypothetical casino case study questions. The interview was about an hour. The second round was a take-home assignment. I got 2 datasets and had to do EDA and modeling, and send it back within a week. After I submitted it, I had to present the assignment to two interviewers for 1 hour. The data assignment took me at least 2-3 days to finish. This included understanding the data, writing explanations, and conclusions for a thorough EDA and modeling. It was definitely more than an afternoon task. I didn't get to the next round. The company sent an automated 'not selected' email after I put in so much effort and time into the interview process and the data assignment.

A recruiter reached out to me about this role, I didn't even apply. I had my first interview in July 2021. The recruiter was pretty new but did a good job explaining the role and the interview process. The first interview was a technical round with two people: a hiring manager (who laughed a lot, which was a bit irritating) and a Data Scientist IV (who seemed decent). They asked about my current job and responsibilities. Then they asked some high school math questions, which I'd seen before here on Glassdoor, so I aced them! I answered all the questions but didn't move to the next round, not sure what their criteria were. I heard from Blind that they have trouble retaining tech talent and hiring new people, so it's no surprise they haven't updated their interview questions in years.

Got referred by an internal employee to Mark, the recruiter. Mark was great, always giving feedback and helping out. After a quick chat with him, I got some date options for a technical video interview the next week. The whole thing moved pretty fast. I talked to two data scientists on the team. They checked my analytical thinking on probability and a business case study. We ran out of time for the stats and programming questions that were supposed to be covered. It was a good experience overall, and I liked talking with Clover.
