The process involved 4 rounds. Initially, they mentioned that my 7 years of experience didn't quite align with a Staff level, but suggested we could potentially adjust to a Senior level for this role. This already set a negative tone. They also communicated that my desired salary (typical for a senior role) was not feasible. The HR representative's demeanor was somewhat abrupt; instead of asking for my availability, they imposed a one-hour deadline. Furthermore, during the initial screening, they withheld details about the compensation package despite my inquiry. After scheduling the final round, I was informed that the role was no longer open for senior-level candidates, leading to the cancellation of the interview. The overall experience felt unprofessional, demeaning, and like a complete waste of my time.

So the interview process included an HR chat about background and how I work in teams, then a pair programming session where we solved some problems. We also dove into database topics like indexing and normalization, and touched on ACID principles. There was also a part about clean code practices, like naming and SOLID, and some Java concepts: OOP, collections, concurrency, streams, memory management, and new language features.

So basically, during my interview at Cloudera, I talked about how I'm good with cloud stuff and how I've helped build and set up big solutions. I made sure to mention that I can make things run better, improve how data is managed, and get cloud setups working smoothly. I also said I like coming up with new ideas for the cloud and that I've built strong, fast platforms that fit with what Cloudera wants. The whole thing showed I know a lot about cloud computing, both the tech side and the big picture.
