It went well, the professor gives a task randomly and asks us how we can solve them in several ways. He actually looks for something unique research oriented. Like how the candidate is analyzing the problem and how is he using AI and supporting tools to get answers and Yeah

after applying, they checked my resume and also looked me up on linkedin and social media to see if I was a good fit. then I had a phone interview, followed by an in person interview where they asked basic questions and focused on personality and problem solving skills. it was pretty easy and straightforward.

First, you'll submit your application online, which means uploading your resume/CV, cover letter, and anything else they ask for. Then, the HR department or the specific department for the GA position will look over applications and pick out candidates who seem to fit the basic requirements. After that, if you're shortlisted, you might have an initial interview, probably over the phone or video chat, where they'll ask about your background, your qualifications, and why you want this GA role. They'll also probably talk about your availability since GAs are usually grad students. Depending on what the GA job is actually about, you might have a technical or role-specific interview. For instance, if it's a research GA, they might ask about your research background and what you're interested in. If it's more of a teaching assistant kind of job, you could be asked about your ideas on teaching methods. Sometimes, for roles that involve teaching or research, they'll want you to come to campus for an interview. There, you might meet professors or the people you'd be working with. You might even have to do a demo lesson, present your research, or talk about how you'd help out the department. For some GA positions, you might have to take a test or do an assessment related to your field, like a subject exam or a writing sample. They also usually check your references to make sure you're a good fit and have the right qualifications, so have your references ready. Sometimes, there's a final chat with higher-ups at the university, maybe to see if you align with their overall goals. Finally, if everything goes well, they'll offer you the job, laying out the details of the role, pay, and benefits. Once you accept, you'll go through the onboarding, which involves paperwork, orientation, and getting familiar with university rules.

The supervisors called a couple of days before with almost no info. The interview was in a room with other applicants. They told us about the job and gave us a tour of the facilities. We filled out forms, and that was the only questions asked. I didn't hear back for a couple of months, so I figured they hired others. Then, a couple of months later, they contacted me expecting me to know I was hired and just needed to accept shifts.
